This was a commission from Cork Samaritans for an online campaign ‘Life’s Worth Talking About’ to mark a 45 year aniversary. It was created on Inchydoney beach in County Cork.

Bring us to your beach…
Sean has participated in many coastal festivals around Ireland and the UK. He has quite a following with many of his projects going viral or ending up on TV. In an ideal situation it would be great for spectators to view the sand art from a vantage point overhead. As this is not always possible it is often the photos and videos that create a lasting legacy of Seans participation.
Depending on the assignment Sean often looks for volunteers in the area to take part in the artworks. He can also run daily workshops as part of his contribution to the festival. This allows festival goers to meet him and have a go themselves. Sand castle competitions with tips and tricks from Sean are also a great attraction for families.

‘Return of the Sandman’ made by Lighthouse Films during a festival in the UK in 2017.
‘Four Giants of Irish Literature’…Wilde, Yeats, Joyce, and Beckett. These four sand art portraits by Sean Corcoran were commissioned as part of the ‘Voices of Ireland’ TV series for Sky Arts. William Butler Yeats’s portrait was created under the shadow of Benbulbin on Screedagh Beach in County Sligo. The portrait of James Joyce was created at the old sea baths on Sandymount Strand in Dublin. We chose the vast landscape of Poolbeg Beach on the Northern edge of Dublin Bay for Samuel Beckett. We created the portrait of Oscar Wilde on Skerries South Beach in County Dublin.
