Education continues to be treated as an essential service during the Level 5 government guidelines. The Art Hand suspended all indoor projects in schools and at our premises back in March but we continue to offer sand art workshops on beaches for school groups. We believe these events are of great benefit for children’s mental and physical health. It offers the freedom of the great outdoors while engaging in a creative process. We are delighted to now also offer some options via ZOOM…

Firstly Sean has created a live presentation that is now available for classes. During this talk Sean shows photos and videos of his sand art and beach projects. He gives an insight into how these pieces are made and their context in the environment. The teacher and students present can ask questions. Sean is an engaging presenter and we have had some great feedback to this ZOOM talk.

We can also collaborate with a class teacher to remotely facilitate an environmental project through a series of weekly Zoom talks with the class. In this case a project is devised based on materials that are readily available in the school grounds or it’s immediate surroundings. Tasks are set each week and presented back to Sean via ZOOM for discussion and development.

Sean Corcoran can facilitate sand art workshops at a beach of your choice. We supply rakes and sticks that are sanitised before use. Sean engages thoroughly with school staff in advance to ensure things run smoothly and in accordance with school and government guidelines. Some of these workshops are one off events, some involve a series of workshops. Ideally we like to involve all participants in the planning and design of the sand art. We are not available to do schools visits but can now do presentations and planning workshops via Zoom.
